I have, in the meantime, been collection parts. These include;
MC21 Magteks with disks
MC21 Calipers
RS250 Bodywork
MC18 Clocks
MC18 PGM-II and loom
Plus a few other bits and bobs!
Anyway, todays task was to get the front end on. The forks are mc18 items.
The old mc16 front end
Forks and old stuff off
mc18 yokes fitted. Not a bad fit really
Still some work to do, need to get a new set of taper rollers. On the shopping list for next week or tomorrows stafford show
Forks and bar mounts on
Nice new alloy bars fitted. Handy to have as spares for when the inevitable happens! Cheap too, off a well known auction site
Wheel in... mmm sexy!
Next up will be tackling the rear end, fitting the mc21 swingarm has presented me with a few problems as regard to the linkage setup.. I'm going to have to just experiment with different linkage and spring combo's until I get it right. I could, at a push modify the swingarm, as I really need to use the '21 one to get the pipes tucked in! Still, so long as its made of metal I can bodg..err modify it !
