Here's an idea for you, fit the MC18 carbs and look out for a set of R2/4J pipes for it. Gut the MC16 cans and get some free-flow internals for them (I think it was silikesguiness who posted a good link for silencer consumables before), and mate them back up to the MC18 chambers. It'll still look just like an MC16, but you should be right up around 60hp with those mod's I reckon.
I bought some MC18 R2J pipes for my MC16 for that very reason before I found the HRC F3 pipes for it.
