BR9ECM's are the plugs you want for all but the MC16. They average £5~6 (US$8.25~9.50) each in the UK... that's the price they are!

I run race plugs; they are $30+ each and their lifetime is about an 1/8 that of the BR9ECM's.

Honda specify checking BR9ECM's every 6 months, and replacing them every 5000kms. I don't think $20/5000kms can be considered expensive, especially when I reckon most people would take 2 or more summers/years to do 5000kms!
