How difficult is it to change the spline shaft that shifts the transmission? I have done many rebuilds but have never been down to crank. I think my mech skills are pretty good but I'm no GP crew member.

I had a little problem going down to Laguna this past weekend. Was stuck in third gear from the time I got off the freeway. It was fun. Shaft is almost smooth now.
