The bike is a race bike and was running very well to half way in the series then i had a seize at the end of the long back straight not a bad one but enough to wreck the barrell and piston.Just ran it a bit to close i guess. That was with the air box, with some extra holes in it.Think i was on B needle no 2 clip pos.The bike was keeping up with some of the less modded zxr400s and i was overtaking them on the back straight.Life was looking good....
Anyway the bike is almost back together and I have made a huge air box.It fills the whole space behind the rear cylinder. The fuel tank is the lid and the carbs sit inside it.The settings i gave you are for my what it will need guesstimate guess.Have only ridden the bike on a short bit of road but on the new settings the bike does bog down a bit as you roll on the throttle but as you pick up speed it clears out.I think thats going to be fine as on the track you just dont go down that low .Do you think i should change to a thinner needle?.At the mo the power jets are out its another variable and at the mo my plate is full just trying to set up the JHA kit.Might try them next season would have to dyno though and see if there was an advantage. As soon as i can get the bike together and get some time off work the bike will be dynoed but the end of the series is comming up and the bike is on stands with the forks away for a rebuild. The carbs out for the airbox building.A new untested Ohlins rear shock.New EBC rear rotor and HH pads.An un tested TYGA lightened flywheel.Ah and it needs a new rear Super Corsa.Next race is non series at Taupo on the 3rd april and all my hair is starting to fall out!.
