I just bought myself an 1988 MC16 250R. I should be picking it up in a few days, and riding it home

Its got K&n's on, and apparently been re jetted (i hope, becuse ive heard you can damge the engine if not)(correct me if im wrong)!
Its got a larger back wheel on it, from a NSR500. Has anyone heard of this being done?
Im a bit surprised the rev counter only goes to 10,000, i expected it to be higher than that.
Anyway, hope someone can shed some light on my points above.
