You can use Mk1 MC18 (R2/4J) components, but you also need all the other associated parts such as the PGM, RC Valve controller, flywheel, stator (or modify the MC16 one) etc.

You will find the wiring for the instruments and switchgear etc. will need modifying, and some wires shortening and others lengthening. It's not a big job, but it's not a direct replacement either.
