You don't get a single day of summer, you get some hot weather, but not a summer, in 5 weeks time it'll be light here at near 8pm, and it'll stay that way until the middle of September.
In mid summer there's time to ride a daylight only (i.e. no road lights of any form) bike to the track, get in a couple of hours of track time and ride home again, after work

I'd say today was the first day with a sight of spring in, a little spin after work was fun
