It's true, unless it must be a '28 then a '21 is the better bike. Tons cheaper too. There a very good '21se to be had for way under 1/2 the money of that '28. That 21 has not sold on ebay twice recently for £2750, give him a call, make an offer, save 4 grand. 4 grand, you could have mine as well, and be quids in!
Depends what you want of course, if you're after something to polish and look at then a "mint" Rothmans '28 is probably what you want.

It's also a fair bet that any bike with 1700 miles on the clock in the past 15 years will need the crank seals doing in the quite near future.

It's value is what you (the prospective '28sp buyers) think it is as there are no other mint Rothmans '28sp's available, but looking at other similar stuff it's somewhere between (at least) £1000 (Robin's mint Repsol '28sp has been up for £5500 for a while and not sold) and £3000 (Bully's tidy, full power '28se OK no Magtek's but pipes and HRC card are worth more than stickers and 0.5kg off the wheels) over priced.
