Single bike / box trailer

ricey3 » Tue Jan 20, 2009 10:05 am

Morning all

I just thought i'd check on here before offering it to the masses.

I'm selling my bike / box trailer as i need something that will carry two bikes.

I bought the box trailer last summer for £65, stripped it down and repainted the chassis and overhauled the wheel bearings.
I then welded up a trough assesmbly which is bolted through the chassis to hold the bike, (it is completeley removeable) in 60 sec's
I also made a ramp which bolts to the back and makes loading easy, The pictures show the floor of the trough with a woodedn bottom but it is now 2mm steel plate and is all painted black, light board and electrics are also included. The tralier has indespension units, and 3 excellent tyres.

I still have the lid of the box trailer and all it would take to change back is a bit of wood slotted in at the front and back.

It tows very well and is nice and stable, but the length of the trough was made specifically for the rgv, so it will only suit bikes of the same wheelbase, nsr's etc and other light bikes. its not really a superbike trailer.

Anyway it was perfect for me for getting to track days and back and taking rubbish to the tip, but this year a mate wants to come to all the days with me and I wouldn't mind taking both my bikes to some days.

I'm open to sesnible offers.

cheers
brendan
