This is my first 250 and first two stroke. When i moved here i was discussing which bike to buy with a friend (a bike obsessive) and he recommended i got a NSR, i think every conversation had a "have you got one yet?" line.
Am a happy amateur mechanic when i need to be but have sod all space here.
Here's the current situation: bought for HK$16000 (approx 1000GBP, fairly standard price here in HK), the original PGM died within a month (oh oh not a good sign) had that replaced under guarantee (replaced with a 2nd hand one). 2 weeks later someone scuffed the bodywork with their bumper (nice considerate drivers here!). then recently one of the exhaust cans died on me.
The plan:
Clean it (very bad habit of not cleaning things regularly, if at all)
Top end rebuild (didn't do one after i bought it)
Thorough check of electrics
New exhausts
Basic performance tweaks (a fun road bike, not race bike)
New body work (open to paint scheme suggestions)
