I think I have killed it….. nearly!!!! MC28SE Problem

NSR250MC28SE » Thu Jul 31, 2008 10:29 am

I stripped my MC28SE down to clean repair and to add a few bits to let the engine gain some BHP.

I Put it all back together and now it will not rev past 4k under load, unless I open the throttle fully and then it will only go to 9,500-10,000.

I replaced the std Reed valves and std stuffers with tyga reed blocks and stuffers and fitted some AKTIVE Carbon Reeds.

I also Modified the airbox lid as per the TYGA pictures.

It's Running Standard Pipes and silencers, as I have been waiting 3 MONTHS now for my pipes from TYGA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEP thats right 3 MONTHS...........................

The MC28 Flywheel has beeen replaced with a MC21 Flywheel.

Replaced my damaged Carbs with some mint ones I got from Japan.
These have been checked over and have std jetting and needles etc in them.

And that’s about it.

Bike starts easily and idles and will blip to 10k without any problem on the stand.

It feels and sounds really richwhen ridden, but it has std carb settings and the problem is with both sets of carbs.

I have checked all the electrical connections and did not touch the power valves or the wiring for them on purpose.

Before I stripped it will quite happily rev to 10k in the bottom 4 gears. ( this was as far as I pushed it)

Any idea’s…. I am stumped

Cheers Rob
