The diagram is from the official Honda Workshop Manual. It is however possible that it is different for the MC16 model (where the majority of the information is centred, with supplements for the later models), but the principal is still the same.

It should really be pretty self-self-explanatory when you actually look at the oil pump. Open the throttle to max, look at the pulley, and a line will almost certainly be at least close to the alignment mark on the pump body!

If I'd known it was going to turn out to be such I nice day I would've considered a ride down this afternoon to give you a hand.
