Hi all,

without sounding like one of them people that suggest the questions on the trivia pursuit game are wrong if they don't get the answers right...but....

I took all the cables off, checked the settings and i have come to the opinion that the pulley index picture in "workshop" cannot be right, surely.

On my oil pump pulley i have two index marks and a letter H. the letter H is nearest to the cable nipple holder on the pulley and continuing around the edge of the pulley i have the first index mark (this i can set at full throttle).

the one indicated in the workshop diagram near the end of the pulley passes the "line up point"as soon as i open the throttle quarter way (this index mark is the furthest away from the nipple holder).

Try as a like, no play anywhere that i can see that will bring it into play at fully throttle, unless i shorten the cable but as you have all stated i don't need to do this just set it as you have stated.

this has led me to query that either i have an irregular pulley with two index marks, an incorrect cable or the diagram is wrong (surely not as it is probably a honda picture).

i am now going to set the pulley up to open at max throttle and this will line up between the H and the first index mark. (I've just had a brain wave.) i'm going to have a look at my other pulleys to see if there are any differences between models.

hope this is clear, if you understand please comment.

thanks

wes

PS hope i'm not going to have to eat humble pie re the workshop diagram.
