A friend and I went with a van to the manx gp a couple of years ago, £400 for the ferry and £25 per day per head for food and beer. The benefit of the van is that you can travel the island, find a quiet spot and park up. We locked the bikes together at night and slept in the van, not to bad except when it rains at night, you needed earplugs in!! You also have the added bonus of not needing the rac to lift you if it seizes!!
