Very little is new in the world of engine design, be it two stroke or four stroke.

The Czecho guy that used to do my engines when I first started racing the 125 proddy bike had all sorts of crazy ideas. This guy walked that very fine line between genius and insanity. Unforunately he spent most of his time on the wrong side of the fence!

Anyway, this four exhaust port design was a design of his. Apparently he came up with the idea while shooting the fat with some of his crazy buddies in Broadmoor Hospital. He never actually made a working example but I did see the wooden plugs that he had whittled with a sharpened spoon. From his explanation it would have worked in the same way as matey's example. This was back in about 90~91 when he showed me, so I guess the idea/design was already 5+ years old.

The guys name was Josef Prokopius, he's got various patents online if anyone wants to read up about his ideas.

He also made my variable volume expansion chamber, a data logger out of a walkman cassette player, sequential shift lights and ignition systems that would make HRC scratch their collective heads.

A proper fruit cake, but an amazing guy!
