Yes they are rare, hence the pricing. There was a second generation MC18 here with 16000 Km on the clock for 4500.00 I ended up getting the earlier R4J Rothmans rep with less than 9000k on it and it looks like it just came off the showroom floor. The only prob is a peeled sticker. I got that for four grand, a good deal I reckon. I had never even seen one until I saw that one in the shop, so I know how rare they are on this side of the pond.

In Canada we are lucky as emissions legislation does not affect motorcycles period. But our wonderful government wants to change current import laws from 15 to 25 years. So if that happens say goodbye to anything newer than a 1983 model motorcycle. Those of us that already have one are lucky. It will probably drive the value up as well.

Sounds to me California is a bit of a grey area, may just depend on how bad a day Rose the clerk has had or it just may depend if you have a title. And if its the latter and you dont have one, your not getting the bike on the street.
