I'm quite aware that world championships are won by teams and not individual riders. I was just making the point that Rossi is a far more talented rider than Hayden.
The definition of champion is "a person who has defeated all opponents in a competition or series of competitions, so as to hold first place".
Having "defeated all opponents" only 3 times in his Moto GP career, I think his success is more thanks to the team than to his talent. Lets face it, he's Honda's No. 1 rider and is being consistently out-ridden by his teammate and by Melandri and Elias on satelite Hondas
