There are differencies, this is what I wrote a while back about my two MC21s:

1. MC21SE 1990, standard wiring loom, kiss box.
a. If I turn off the power, remove the connector to the carburator transmitter, turn on the power. Then the RC valve opens.
b. If I turn off the power, open the gas fully, turn on the power. Nothing happens!

2. MC21SP 1993, HRC wiring loom, HRC box
a. If I turn off the power, remove the connector to the carburator transmitter, turn on the power. Nothing happens!
b. If I turn off the power, open the gas fully, turn on the power. Then the RC valve opens.

Has anyone seen this ?

Any explanation ?

Number 1 looks like the standard but with so many people cleaning and adjusting RC valves, someone must have seen number 2 ? Can it be I have a PGMIII F3 , if such a thing exists ?

Try it on yours!!

But just try to start it and blip the throttle, if the valve moves its probably working correctly. Then you could just check alignment.
