I shipped mine in with my whole lot of household goods, so Customs never looked into it. If you ship it as a separate "vehicle", it will have a much higher chance of getting stopped by Customs. You want to avoid this as much as possible. You can even disassemble it and lable it as "motorcycle parts" to get it past them.
Once you get it here, it doesnt take much to get it registered. Get a good Bill of Sale from the previous owner that has the previous owners current address, and the rest is cake.
