Two methods:

Use the RC valve removal tool - This is the correct way.

Use a series of washers piled up and use the L/H nut to slowly wind the shaft out - Not the best way but works.

Lock shaft in vice and smack cylinder with mallet - Wrong! et's the job done but will bend the shaft and might damage cylinder.

First option is the best.
