Go to the bicycle shop and get some cable and fittings etc. They seem to have just about everything you need. Cyclists are obviously not put off by having to make their own cables. You'll need some solderless nipples as well.

Then you can make your own cables and have them as long as you like.

Failing that, take the cables to the bike shop and have a hunt through the other Honda cables. I bet that there's something useable.

If that still doesn't work then leave the bike at home and catch the bus.
