I tried searching the website and forum for buying guide but there were not complete threads, just threads containing some information. So here are a few pertinant questions:-
- Does anyone have any reccomendations for buying? What are the most common problems and fixes.
- For example, with the RGV, the crank lasts max 30,000 miles and pistons typically need changing every typically 10,000 miles - same for NSR?
- Any particular gearbox probelms that can be fixed by replacing with later models (not undercut F3). How long does a clutcjh last (normal road use, not CR box)
- When doing teh wiresplice derestrict mod to derestrict, is rejetting required?
- I checked the tuning section, airbox mods were not covered. Anything to look out for here?
- WHat are the typical lifespan of the rear suspension and shocker? I always found Honda items tend to last a little longer than suzuki, especially since these bikes have spent a lot of time in Japan not ridden around in English road salt stew.
The thread could be made sticky or edited and placed on the main site for people twho are looking for an NSR and want to check for any pitfals.
