Knocking and Pinging

NSR71 » Thu Mar 09, 2006 1:42 pm

Sorry fellas' for all the questions, but I've noticed my 94 SE starts to ping or knock after the engine warms up. I know I should at least try and use a 95-97 octane fuel, I am only running 93 right now. I've tryed to do a little research on the internet and found out that running a lower octane may ignite at a lower tempature,(pre-ignition) so I am trying to find out what the normal operating tempature the engine should be running at and can I try and use a colder plug if I can't find a higher octane gas? As far as I know the bike is all stock except the carbon fiber silencer I put on. Thanks
