If that's what it is, then a regulator/rectifier usually averages somewhere around £70, and a stator re-wire is about £50. That's IF it's one of those that's causing the problem.

It's unlikely to be both components failing, but if it is the reg/rec, then get a new one and don't bugger around with second-hand as it isn't worth it!
