Have I paid over the odds?

Colin NSR » Mon Jan 16, 2006 2:50 pm

I bought my NSR last year. Now I've been looking at this website for a few months and I'm confident it is a genuine 1996 MC28 SP Repsol model in excellent original condition (one tiny stress crack at front fairing fastener). Only 11,000 kms (~7,000 miles). 2 previous owners.

It came with all paperwork including the original receipt for the bike when it was bought in as a brand new import. It has original handbook, few other books too, and other documents all in Japanese so f*ck knows what they say. It even has some nice glossy pictures on elastic bands that must have been hung on the bars in the showroom. Also has spare unused key card thingy in envelope with more japanese paper.

The bike is standard except M Max race pipes (plus clean originals) and Maxton rear shock (plus original).

I paid £3,000 for it - yes £3,000. I just keep seeing NSR's for next to nowt and wonder if I've paid way over the odds. Also my insurer questioned £3,000 insurance value.
