New MC28 owner needs advice/info

stlambrick » Mon Nov 28, 2005 1:32 am

I just bought a 1995 MC28 and so far think it's a hoot even though it's not as fast as my TZ250 or R1!! It is under sprung for me and I am considering converting to USD fork rather than have the stocker reworked. Has anyone posted a list of forks that will work and what other mods are required?

Is the stock rear shock worth rebuilding or are better aftermarket shocks available at reasonable cost, if so from what vendor.

The bike has a nice aftermarket exhaust and came with the HRC card. I plan to derestrict the wire so the HRC card will work, will the stock card work after the wiring is changed and what will I lose after the modification. Ive heard that the MC21 ignition will improve performance, can anyone confirm and are there any drawbacks.

Tyga advertises a modified airbox, can the stock unit be modified and if so what needs to be done.

I hope all these questions haven't just been addressed, I didn't see any recent posts but know how new forum members can be a pain in the arse will topics that have been beaten to death already. Any advice or information that will help me let the bike perform to it's full potential without sacrificing too much reliability will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve
