The situation couldn't exist, Thai blokes apparently treat their women with about as much kindness and respect as the Iraqi government used to, and this is what Thai girls expect and what they are used to, hence even the most tongue tied bumbling westerner is "sweet mouthed" to them.

For the average village girl though it's their only chance of getting out of absolute poverty on a level we can't comprehend, if things turn out badly she'll earn 10 times what she'd earn anywhere else and be able to send some money back home too, if things turn out well she'll find someone who'll love her, wisk her away and give her a life of near unbeliveable luxury that she would never have dared even dream of. Who wouldn't want that for their little girl?
