NS400R engine in a MC21 chassis?

Mr T » Mon Oct 10, 2005 4:46 pm

First off, a small thank you to the kind people who took the time earlier this year to help find me a 21 Frame with V5. I've finally had the bugger rebuilt complete with new chassis and ridden it in anger. I'll never throw my leg over another 4 stroke again! Twisted Evil

The handling is sublime, more capable than I'll ever be, however, it lacks the grunt that my tuned RGV's had. I'd been toying with the idea of fitting the 300 kit from tyga when an NS400R came up for 700 bucks - another impluse buy!

It's a complete and reasonably clean bike but the bodywork's been kicked around the guys garage for 4 or 5 years most of which is damaged beyond repair.

Since I now have a complete spare rolling chassis I could try and shoe horn the NS400 motor into the nsr frame! Has anyone ever done this? I've seen loads of RGV/RS/RG500 projects but never an NS/NSR.

Fair enough, the NS motor isn't near as powerful as the RG, but it's reliable, spares are readily available, and Terry Shepherd (an hours drive away) is an NS400 specialist - 500 conversions, Race pipes etc.

Has anyone seen this done before?
