I can't remember who it was, but a while back someone posted about drilling out the little rivets on the fuel tap and replacing the O-ring inside.

As far as I'm aware, the thread on the base of the MC18 and MC21 fuel tanks is the same, so the tap bodies should, in theory, be interchangeable. However, the length of the main brass feed tubes and filters differ, so you'd need to trim the tube, and swap the filters.

The plastic switch extension is just held in place with a small cross-head screw, but I the stubs on the switch bodies differ, so you may need to get a little creative fitting the MC18 extension to the MC21 body.

There is actually a brand new MC16/18 tap assembly on Yahoo! Auctions right now for about £30, item ID: l1059122035
