Throttle Position Sensor (mc28)

ericandchi » Mon Sep 19, 2016 2:08 am

Thought I posted about an hour ago but think I never pushed submit.

Interested to know how sensitive the bikes are to tps sensor. I was testing mine with a digital meter, when opening the throttle very slowly, I'm getting a slight!y jittery reading close to full throttle on digital meter. I tried again using an old school analog meter...seems a bit smoother.

Something funny going on with my bike...when it gets warmed up it starts to go flat at 10.5k rpm at full throttle. Seems way lean. Think maybe I am not getting full ignition advance, but manual says if throttle is over 20%, the advance is 5.8 deg. The 3d maps aren't clear to me. Maybe I am over thinking this.

Checked to make sure bike isn't sucking in air someplace other than thru the carbs, but nothing obvious. I will need to pull carbs and pipes to do a proper pressure and vacuum check. I am at a point where bike is lean on top no matter how big I go on main jet. But works fine when cool, gets worse when hot. Bike ran like crap on track few weeks ago. Could not get it to run good above 10.5k

Thinking either seals are going or ignition timing getting wonky when bike is hot.
