New NSR and Grips

NSR peachy » Sat Sep 03, 2016 6:00 am

Hi guys,

New owner of a new NSR250 here. I rescued mine from our showroom which had been sitting there for about 20 yrs. Odo was @ 5 kms but not after my ride this weekend. Smile I'm noticing that w/o a tank grip of sort, I'm sliding forward a lot and the little hanging-off I do is a bit of an effort. What are you guys using? I think tank grips made specific to this bike is not going to be easy to find.... hence i'm asking what you guys have done.

BTW, is it just me or the bike really seems to shifts w/o needing to use the clutch. Am I destroying the tranny by not using the clutch?

I also screwed up and left the cleaner too long on the sticker and as a result it took the clear coat out (wrinkled away) leavig just the red basecoat. You can somewhat see it near the seat. I'm thinking of just getting that repainted and then getting the whole plastic panel repainted.... or if there are stickers to buy still, just pop a new one (same design) on it. What do you guys think?

What's that adjuster on the front suspension do—preload or rebound control? Looks like a preload.

Would I need a steering damper on this? It's completely stock at this point.
